SPRINGTIME 2014

By John Ollis

September 1 is the start of Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, and the flowers, blossom and wattle are blossoming everywhere (and i guess giving many people allergic reactions). It is like a resurrection after months of apparent death, everything is coming to life again. It is a wonderful time of the year, after the cold, wet, depressing days of winter.

I am reminded of Solomon’s words “The rain is over and the winter is gone and the time of the singing of the birds has come”.

The scripture that especially speaks to me today is Isaiah 43.19 “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it ? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland” NIV.  The  Message Bible says :

Be alert, be present. I am about to do something brand new. it’s bursting out! don’t you see it ? There it is ! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.

THIS IS A PERPETUAL PROMISE FROM OUR AWESOME GOD.

God asks the question, do you see it ? can you perceive it ? Paul reminds us, that we MUST not be dictated to by our natural senses, we must have “eyes to see, and ears to hear”. If we are controlled by our senses, we will be at times in the “slough of despond” only being aware of the “badlands” (Message). Of course  (from time to time)  bad things happen to God’s people, and  “all things do work together for good”. BUT God’s promise is “a new thing”.

May I encourage you today, whether you are struggling, physically, emotionally, mentally, financially or spiritually, Let God open your eyes to see this new thing He wants to do in your life.

You may have to start confessing this verse in your praying and let it become a Rhema word to you. Our God is NEVER static, He wants to bless His people, He wants to bless His Church, and prepare her as a Bride for His soon return to take us home to Himself.

What is your greatest need today ? What is your greatest desire ? Doesn’t the Psalmist say “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.?

Jesus said Seek first (make it your no.1 priority) the Kingdom (rule) of God  and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and all these things will be added unto you.

So, as the saying goes “The ball is in our court”.

We must have eyes to see,

We must believe the promises of God.

My prayer today is that you will experience a NEW THING  in your life not just  today, but continually in your life, it is our inheritance in Christ, to continually experience his Fullness of Blessing. Of course there is a cost, but:

THE ONLY LIFE WORTH LIVING IS A LIFE LEARNING TO BE CONTINUALLY SURRENDERED TO THE LORD.

Will you write and tell me how Spring is bursting forth in your life.
