HOW DOES OUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY BEGIN ?

A SEED MUST BE SOWN

Many people hear the Gospel preached a number of times, or have some people witness to them. Peter says (1 Pet. 1.23) that we can only be born again through the incorruptible “seed” of the Word of God. The Holy Spirit takes a “seed” spoken by a Preacher or Witnesser and He plants that “seed” in our heart, you know I say that praying the Sinner’s prayer is not enough (confession) in itself, but as Paul says we must believe in our heart, spritual conception must take place in our heart.

DISCIPLESHIP & TEACHING MUST TAKE PLACE

The enemy will try and pluck that “seed” out of our heart, unless Discipleship and teaching takes place. We would NEVER throw a baby into a swimming pool and say swim, and yet so often we assume and presume that it’s ok  now they are a believer. Thank God for the work of Grace that takes place in a believer’s heart, but the “seed” must be fed and nurturedby Disciplemakers. Very few new Christians will develop an intimacy with God in the short term unless someone walks with them. I know I am repeating myself,  but we should have zero tolerance for “still births” and sick babies, when Jesus has given us the formula to grow spiritual babies.

THE RESULT

Will always be growth and a press forward to maturity. Lord help us yo get it right ?

God is glorified.

IMPORTANT KEYS

In John 15 we are commanded to abide in the Vine (Jesus)  (remain intimately in His love)and He promises us He will abide in us. Jesus says His joy will be full if we do this.

We must keep His commandments, thus we must know what the Word says about how to live.

There is nothing new in the above, Let’s do it and see quality maturing disciples loving and serving the Lord.
