ARE YOU WILLING VOLUNTEER?
King David makes this exciting statement in Psalm 110;4 God’s people will be willing volunteers in the day of God’s power. Most mega churches could not function without an army of volunteers to support its every function. But I don’t think this is what David is talking about.
Acts 1:8 immediately came to mind “But you shall receive power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, and you shall be my witnesses”. Thank God for the army of volunteers who help a local church function, but David had a much more important truth in mind.
Just yesterday I read statement by William Temple “The Church is the only society that exists for the benefit of those who are NOT its members”.
We have been commissioned and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be willing volunteers to bring the good news of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
Are you born again ? then the Holy Spirit has come into your life, the big question is this. “Is he just resident or PRESIDENT in your life”. For when he is PRESIDENT then you are empowered , for every day is the “Day of God’s Power” the challenge we all face daily is to let Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, to help us be willing volunteers.
Verse 3 goes on and talk about the beauties of holiness: for when Jesus is President then His holy nature expresses itself through our life. I am reminded that without holiness no man shall see God Hebrews 12:14. This just reinforces the truth that we must continually reaffirm His Lordship daily in our life, so that we can be the people God wants us to be and for what he wants us to do. Remember we can never be holy unless Jesus is the Lord of our life.
Verse 3 goes on and says if we are willing volunteers we have the dew of our youth upon us, this statement so reminds me of Caleb (Joshua 14) that at 85 he still had the strength of when he was 40 years old when Moses gave him the promise of the land. The Apostle Paul in Rom.8:11 says If the Holy Spirit dwells (is President) He will quicken your mortal body.
So do you want to be a “willing volunteer, let Jesus by the Holy Spirit be the PRESIDENT of your life, and take Daniel 11:32 as a promise from God “But the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out GREAT EXPLOITS. Amen.
