THE SEVEN FOLD SPIRIT OF GOD

By John Ollis

The number 7 is very significant in Scripture, and is seen as the number representing Perfection and Completion. In the book of Revelation in 1:4,3:1,4:5,& 5:6 we read about the 7 SPIRITS OF GOD, the readers I assume are to know what the Apostle John was talking about. I am so glad the Bible interprets itself and we need to go back to the Old Testament for the interpretation, we read in Isaiah 11:2 NKJV The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.  The MESSAGE TRANSLATION says: The life-giving Spirit of God will hover over him, the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding, The Spirit that gives direction and understanding, the Spirit instills knowledge and Fear of God.
There are not 7 different Holy Spirits, but one Holy Spirit who manifests Himself in a PERFECT and COMPLETE way. So let us list these expressions of the Holy Spirit.

  • The Holy Spirit (the Life Giving Spirit)

Every day we should thank God for His Resurrection Life Giving Spirit that dwells in us that quickens our mortal bodies now and on that glorious day when Jesus returns.
The Spirit of Wisdom
The Bible tells us If any man lack wisdom, all we need to do is ask the Lord who will give to us, (in bucket loads), it is often because we don’t ask we have so many difficulties.

  • The Spirit of Understanding

Wisdom, is one thing, but oh how we need the understanding to put the wisdom into operation.

  • The Spirit of Counsel (direction)

Our God is not the author of confusion, but wants to clearly lead us, both in the big and the little matters of life.

  • The Spirit of Might (Power)

Thank God we have the power to live a victorious life, power against the enemy, and power to be a witness.

  • The Spirit of Knowledge

The Holy Spirit wants to lead us into TRUTH, to quicken His Word to us

  • The Spirit of the Fear of God

The Holy Spirit wants to help us have a reverential awe of our God, although he is our loving Father, we must never treat Him or His Word lightly, but ever be ready fall prostrate at His feet in awesome worship.
Our mortal minds cannot fully comprehend the Eternal Godhead FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT, but we will be grateful throughout eternity for presence and involvement in our lives AMEN.
