LORD PURIFY MY HEART?
As I continue my musings in the Psalms, King David writes in Psalm 20:4 NKJV May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose.
This reminds me of that verse also written by David in Psalm 37:4 NKJV Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Some Charismatic preachers suggest this verse says “worship the Lord, and start confessing for a Mercedes Benz car or whatever. Both these verses sure do not say that, getting back to the verse at the start of this series David says in Psalm 17:3 You have tested my heart. I know personally as Jeremiah declares in 17:9 The heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, we must be working on our heart (our motives and attitudes) continually so David says in these verses, that our heart’s desire MUST BE HIS HEART’S DESIRE, and only then will He give us our heart’s desire.
These verses and this awesome truth are really challenging my heart and I am asking myself some painful hard questions.
Is my blogging for His glory?
Why do I want more subscribers and followers? Again is it for my glory or His?
I must confess there is “mixture” in my heart and God sure knows that, so I must not fool myself, but ask the Lord to cleanse and sanctify my heart, so that my motives will be pure, and that they will produce much fruit for the Kingdom of God and for His glory.
My readers may think I am being extreme, I don’t mind, I am the one who has to answer before the Lord.
I DO WANT MY DESIRE TO BE HIS DESIRE
I DO WANT MY PURPOSE TO BE HIS PURPOSE
I DO WANT TO SEE THE BODY OF CHRIST REVIVED AND PREPARE HERSELF FOR THE BRIDEGROOM
Lord remove the mixture and alloy out of my heart as daily I “present my Body as a living sacrifice” Rom. 12:1 may the Rhema Word daily wash and cleanse my heart Eph. 5:26
Can my readers relate to the above, I trust so, David near the end of His life continued to pray Psalm 139:24 NKJV Search me O God and know my HEART, try me (test me) and know my anxieties, and see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.
As Paul wrote to young Pastor Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:5 NKJV Let us love from a pure HEART, from a good CONSCIENCE, and from SINCERE FAITH.
BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART FOR THEY SHALL SEE GOD, Matt.5:8
