DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS IN THE WILL FOR YOU?

By John Ollis

Over the weekend the Lord reminded me of some precious truths that are so important to the Christian. My readers know how committed I am to what I call Biblical Discipleship which I define as “Walking with a new Believer (for as long as it takes) until living as a Christian is a lifestyle”. This not only includes developing an intimate relationship with the Lord in prayer and the Word of God, and for example protecting our mind (which is the battlefield of the soul), but also sharing with the new Believer the glorious inheritance they have in Christ, again walking with them until the information becomes revelation and constantly working in their life. You might say well that will be a lengthy process, sadly it will even be longer without discipleship, tell me “How long is it since you have heard a series of teaching or preaching on the Believer’s Inheritance ??” I cannot remember to be honest. When a person cones to Christ and the Holy Spirit comes into his life and intuitively the new Believer often experiences revelation, but for many it is a very slow haul with many defeats and dissapointments, and some Believers never really find out what their inheritance is.

A Disciplemaker is like a lawyer who sits down with you and READS THE WILL to you, it is a lengthy and full document, and he then sees that you practically receive and enjoy all your inheritance. The Apostle Peter tells us in 2 Peter 1:3 NLT By his divine power, God has given us EVERYTHING we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. This blog will only share a small amount that is in the will, but I trust it will give you a taste to hear and read the Will (The Bible) for yourself to see what all that has your name on it.

The first thought is this, I AM NO LONGER AN ORPHAN BUT A SON

Romans 8: 14-17 AMP For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory.

As a born again believer we have all the benefits of being a son of God from the moment we were adopted into God’s family (even joint-heirs with Jesus). Start to meditate on this glorious fact.

The second thought is this I AM NO LONGER A PAUPER BUT A PRINCE. Before we came to Christ we were beggars with nothing, but Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:9 NLT for you are a chosen people. You are ROYAL PRIESTS, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. John expresses it this way in Revelation 1:6 NKJV He has made us a KINGS AND PRIESTS for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. Not only are we now part of God’s royal family, but as Priests we have complete, and constant and perfect ACCESS into the presence of God Eph.2:18 AMP For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. Begin to meditate on this truth.

The third thought is this I AM NO LONGER A SLAVE BUT A FREE MAN. John 8:38 NLT if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. When we simply read these various verses mentioned here in this blog it is simply information, but as a Disciplemaker walks with you, then you begin to see this is not just your POSITION, but it can and must be your DAILY EXPERIENCE. When the slaves were set free in the U.S. many could not believe it, and lived with a slave mentality until they died. Sadly, many Believers live in defeat because they do not know what is written in the will for them.

So May I ask you, Are you an orphan or a Son?

Are you a pauper or a Prince?

Are you a slave or a Free man?

To those I disciple I give the below document, which I entitle the “Reading of the Will” and encourage them to read and meditate on each of these verses regarding all these inheritance truths and let the Word become a personal Rhema Word to you. You will move to a new level of victory and relationship with the Lord. Please respond with your comments.
