GOD IS AT WORK IN US
I am sure all my readers have had the experience of seeing a family member or a friend’s new baby, and then perhaps not seeing it again for quite a few months, and being almost overwhelmed at the amount of growth that had taken place. This is the same in the spiritual realm too. Some years ago I had the opportunity to Mentor a number of young Leaders which went on for about a year, then when I had some health issues I stopped. Just recently one of the men asked if he could start meeting with me again. It was like meeting with a person I had never met before, his growth in grace has been exponential, and it is such a privilege to meet with him weekly, we are mutually blessed as we share together.
Surprisingly, when it comes to ourselves, we wonder at times if we are growing at all, and even feel we are going backwards sometimes. I want to share an awesome scripture with you to encourage us both in our walk with the Lord.
Phil. 1:6 NKJV Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. I love the MESSAGE which says,There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.
The day we were born again, God’s DNA (uniquely and especially) entered into our life (the womb of our heart) , that incorruptible seed (sperma) of the Word of God which LIVES AND ABIDES FOREVER 1 Peter 1:23 NKJV Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, The AMP. N.T. says You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. The MESSAGE says For Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself!
In the light of this glorious truth, we must REJECT the thoughts and emotions from within, and from the evil one, and do certain things:
- Reaffirm Christ’s Lordship over our lives continually.
- Seek to obey the Word of God completely in OUR LIVES, and so LET THE WORD (The Rhema) the divine sperm, WORK IN US.
- Have a Mentor who we let speak into our lives.
- Use our prayer language regularly.
- Be committed to a local church.
- Learn to live the Spirit-filled life (Eph. 5:18
May this truth dawn on our hearts more and more, be encouraged, we are a work under construction.
