GOD IS THINKING ABOUT YOU RIGHT NOW.
I received a lovely picture on social media this morning from a dear pastor friend, the picture included two verses from that exquisite Psalm 139 where every verse is a gem of truth, and truly as you read and meditate upon it, you are truly “feeding on the finest of the wheat”. The 2 verses were verses 17-18 NKJV How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand.
There was a time when God’s thoughts towards His creation would have been wrathful, because of man’s disobedience, but because the Godhead decided to place that wrath on Jesus which was fulfilled at His crucifixion, God’s thoughts are now PRECIOUS, and there are so many of them, it is not possible to count them because they are more than the sand on a seashore. The MESSAGE describes it this way:Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful! God I’ll never comprehend them! I couldn’t even begin to count them–anymore than I could count the sand of the sea. Think about how many children of God are upon the earth at this moment, our God is thinking about RIGHT NOW, I can’t take it in, but God’s Word says it and I believe it and thank God for His thoughts towards me.
The Prophet Jeremiah echo’s these same thoughts in that well know verse in 29:11 NKJV For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. What a glorious promise, not only are God’s thoughts always to bring us PEACE, and not evil, but He puts a HOPE IN OUR HEARTS, regarding our future, a permanent place in heaven with Him. What an awesome God we serve.
I want to share one more verse which I believe relates to this glorious truth, Isaiah 48:17 NKJV Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
Who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you by the way you should go.
God doesn’t keep His thoughts to Himself, but whispers them into our hearts, and TEACHES US TO PROFIT, AND LEADS US IN THE WAY WE SHOULD GO. God’s thoughts are always about our GROWTH & IMPROVEMENT, so that we are “conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ”. So let us “listen” to His thoughts towards us, that we truly have “ears to hear” and a heart to respond, and spend quality time in His Word and LET HIS WORD WORK IN US Amen.
Sit and mediate on these glorious truths and you will ne overwhelmed with God’s goodness towards us.
