WHAT IS ATTRACTING YOUR EYES?

So, be careful little eyes what you see
The chorus goes on and speaks of other senses that we have in our body that we need to learn to be carful to use correctly. . As children we probably hardly realised what we were singing, (until we came into puberty) as the five senses (seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling) that are in our body, can sure be used for sinful purposes. As well as the three major drives in our body, (hunger, sex, survival).
Then to add to the challenge it sure appears that God has especially made His creation man a very VISUAL personality. I believe the Holy Spirit has shown me, that when we read Paul’s words in Romans 12:1 NKJV I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. WE MUST UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS FOR GOD TO CONTROL OUR BODIES.
The AMP. N.T. spells it out very well,I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [PRESENTING ALL YOUR MEMBERS & FACULTIES) as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. I have capitalised MEMBERS & FACULTIES as we must CONSTANTLY submit these areas to the Lord, ONLY THEN can we live a holy victorious life.
There are many blessings that we enjoy through social media and the internet, but one of the major challenges for men, especially young men is pornography, and it is so easily accessible, and can ruin a person’s life and marriage.
We find an excellent principle of the challenge that men face in the words of Job who must have been tempted visually. In Job 31: 1 NIV “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman”. The MESSAGE Bible makes it so clear “I made a solemn pact with myself
never to undress a girl with my eyes.
The reality is this can be a constant challenge to many men, how can we deal with it. There are two excellent programs that can assist a guy.
- xxxchurch. com when you download this program it will ask you for the email address of an ACCOUNTABILITY BROTHER, and every time you go to a porn site it will send a report to him. This has assisted many guys and stopped them going to these sights.
- CovenantEyes.com (taken from Job 31:1) there is a financial cost with this one, but it is also highly effective.
If you are struggling in this area, I highly recommend either of these programs to you, we all need ACCOUNTABILITY, I also have a past student who every time he is tempted, he immediately messages me and asks me to pray.
The Bible says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and the real you and me live in this house we call our body, and our senses and drives must continually come under the Lordship of Jesus, and when Jesus is the PRESIDENT of our lives by the power of the indwelt Holy Spirit. we can be the MAN, the HUSBAND, the FATHER, God want us to be.
