IN THE RIVER & THE WORD

By John Ollis

My readers would know my definition of prayer is:

THE INTIMATE COMMUNCIATION BETWEEN TWO LOVERS

King David expresses this so often in his many Psalms. Although he has his critics because of his sin with Bathsheba, and arranging the death of her husband, he totally and deeply repented and developed an intimacy and relationship with God which has impacted tens of millions of Believers lives through their reading of h= his expressive Psalms.
I was blest this week as I read Psalm 26:9 NKJV For with You is the fountain of LIFE;
In Your LIGHT we see LIGHT.
The PASSION translation expresses it this way:To know you is to experience a flowing fountain, drinking in your life, springing up to satisfy. In the light of Your holiness we receive the light of revelation.
Jesus said in John 7:38 NKJV He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” We will never forget the day when God’s helped us to respond to His drawing and conviction, and the Holy Spirit flooded into our life, He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
It is God’s plan for us, that the fountain continues to bubble up and flow like a river through us.
The challenge is that we learn (especially through Biblical Discipleship) how to keep the river flowing. Many Believers lose the flow and the joy and sadly endure their Salvation and do not ENJOY it.
Sin will stop the flow.
Carrying a hurt, unforgiveness,  disappointment, rejection will stop the flow.
That is why we must maintain a spirit of repentance, and constantly re-affirm Christs Lordship over our life.
As we learn to let the river continually flow in us and through us, and spend quality time in the Word of God every day, not only reading the Word but also meditating, we can experience a spirit of revelation resting on us. GOD WANTS TO SPEAK TO US EVERY DAY FROM HIS WORD, God wants to turn the light ON.
An added bonus is when God speaks to us FAITH IS BORN IN OUR HEART.  Romans 10:17 NKJV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The AMP N.T. says So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
The PASSION Bible says Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.
So the challenge for every Believer is to
LIVE IN THE FOUNTAIN
LIVE IN THE WORD
In another context Jesus said to the disciples in Luke 5:4 NKJV Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
I love the PASSION Translation that says “Now row out to deep water to cast your nets and you will have a great catch.”
We can paddle around in the shallows of God’s river, or we can “go in deep” and we will have a “great catch” of LIGHT AND REVELATION.
May this simple blog, be a blessing to you as you seek to put it in to practice.
