REACH OUT AND TOUCH THE LORD.

By John Ollis

In my two blogs today I have been very much emphasising that we must  take  the initiative as Believers, for example if we want to maintain the “Joy of the Lord” we must maintain a vital fresh relationship with the Lord, if we want safety and protection we must take the initiative and run to the Name of the Lord. This blog will also take that theme, but I am so glad  that when we feel we are at the end of our rope and nothing is working, the Lord will manifest Himself in some way to us, to bring refreshing and encouragement and blessing.
I love the book of James, it is so full of gems of truth like James 4:8 NKJV Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. we take the initiative and draw near to God, The Word of God guarantees that God  will draw near to us, despite how we may feel, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically, Jesus will respond to us, and fulfil as Paul wrote in   Phil.. 4:19 NKJV And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I want to write about the woman with the issue of blood we read about her in Luke 8:43-48 NKJV. Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you will, go in peace.
I am reminded of a song we used to sing many years ago, that so emphasises the truth we read about  in these verses.
“Reach out and touch the Lord, as He’s passing by.
You’ll find He’s not too busy to hear your heart’s cry.
He is passing by this moment, your needs He’ll supply.
Reach out and touch the Lord, as He’s passing by.”
Aren’t you glad, Jesus is never to busy to meet our need, if we will be reach out to Him/
I have mentioned 1 John 1:9 AMP N.T. previously, If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
This verse is about confessing our sin, but the wider truth is that Jesus is UNCHANGING IN His  NATURE. The writer to Hebrews writes in  13:8 NKJV Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His nature, His Words, His promises are unchanging, so this woman took Jesus at His word, and reached out in faith, and healing virtue flowed from Jesus into her body and the bleeding instantly stopped.
Do you have a need today? it may be physical, or emotional, spiritual or financial Jesus wants to MEET  ALL  your needs according to His riches in glory, His unchanging promises and His unchanging nature guarantees this, you need to do what the woman did, “reach out and touch the Lord, draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Write and tell me about your miracle when you receive it. God bless you.
