THE WORD DEALING WITH THE FOXES.

By John Ollis

As Believers, we have an ever increasing realisation of the uniqueness of the Bible, that there has never been or will ever be a Book (of books) like the Bible, particularly because every verse is inspired and has the very breath of God on every word. Even in Old Testament the psalmist declares in Psalm 119:103-104 NLT How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey, Your commandments give me understanding, no wonder I hate every false way of life.   The MESSAGE Bibles expresses it this way:       Your   words are so choice, so tasty;
I prefer them to the best home cooking.
With your instruction, I understand life;
that’s why I hate false propaganda.
There are times as Paul indicated to Timothy  in 2 Timothy 4:  2NKJV  that the Word of God causes us to be convicted, convinced, rebuked and exhorted, but it can still be as “sweet as honey” if we are willing to respond and obey the Word of God.
I trust that is your testimony. and that your hunger for God’s Word is ever increasing. Let us remember never to take a verse out of its context as you will make it a pretext. Also there are many verses especially in the Old Testament which are hard to understand unless we pass the verse/verses through the Cross and apply New Covenant truth and principles t5o them. That is why Paul  said to Timothy 2:15 NKJV that as a Preacher/Teacher he must “rightly divide the Word of Truth”. The AMP N.T. says correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.
I have been meditating afresh on the words of Solomon in Song of Songs 2:15 KJV the little foxes, that spoil the vines: This suggests that foxes can get into vineyards and seek to eat the grapes and spoil the harvest, what does it mean if we pass it through the Cross and apply New Covenant truth and principles to it.
The vines speak of grapes, grapes speaks of wine, and wine is a type of the Holy Spirit. The foxes are an enemy of the Vine and the grapes, in other words, what is it that can effect the flow of the Holy Spirit in the Believer’s life? There are three things that come to mind and it is interesting that Solomon says foxes (plural). I am very conscious in my own life despite the fact I have been a born again Believer for nearly 70 years, there are three “foxes” I still need to contend with and not let them stop the flow of the Holy Spirit in my life. I have some health issues that I could blame them and hide behind them, but I want to hold on to the Word of God that says, I am MORE THAN A CONQUERER They are:
FEARS
DOUBTS
UNBELIEF
I am not going to develop or major on these “foxes” in this blog, but to say I recognise them, and declare from the rooftops that they do not need to be in my life, and the key is to recognise them the moment they manifest and deal with them especially by:
LOVING THE WORD OF GOD
READING THE WORD OF GOD
HIDE THE WORD IN MY HEART PSALM 119:11 NLT I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

MEDITATE ON THE WORD OF GOD.
Let us LET THE WORD WORK IN US AMEN
