LENT- REFLECTION, FASTING & REPENTANCE (Lenten 1)

By John Ollis

We all know the Boys Scouts motto BE PREPARED”  and yet it is something that is not always a priority in our lives., and we could look back with regret because there has been many times  we weren’t prepared.
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, this has been part of the churches who follow a Liturgy for hundreds of years. The whole church decided hundred od years ago  calendar is broken up into different parts bringing emphasis and reminder of spiritual truths to God’s people.
Many of the Reformers felt it was essential to be reminding God’s people of the essential truths of the Word of God.
Most of my readers like myself were not or currently part of a church that follows a liturgy, and yet we also needed to be reminded often because we forget so soon.
I would like to encourage you to set aside time EVERY DAY to sit and reflect on your relationship with the Lord. Evangelicals and Pentecostals are not good at reflecting,, so Lent is a great time to COME ASIDE AND REST A WHILE Mark 6:31 NKJV.
To those Believers who practice Lent,  it is a time of REFLECTION, FASTING & REPENTANCE.
I am not going to suggest to you some set program, just make the decision, and set aside some time daily, to do these things.
I guarantee you will come to Re3surrection Sunday, changed and in a deeper relationship with the Lord.

JUST DO IT OK?
