BE STILL AND KNOW HE IS GOD

By John Ollis

It is now 18 days since Resurrection Sunday, and so many have indicated that their Lenten journey was life changing. I became very conscious afresh yesterday why the Church Fathers decided God’s people need these times of REFLECTION throughout the year, not only that “we forget so soon” but that we also get busy usually doing the Lord’s work, and feel we don’t have time to BE STILL AND KNOW OUR GOD. I have written a few times about ORGANISING OUR PRIVATE WORLD  and deliberately setting aside some quality time every day for reflection and if needs be REPENTANCE, the reality is UNLESS WE ORGANISE IT, IT JUST WON’T HAPPEN.

We live in a generation that doesn’t like being too organised but prefer to simply “go with the flow” I wonder if this could be one of the “wiles” of the enemy, to keep us busy, and not give attention to what is most important.

there is something in our human nature that suggests to us, that “doing” is more important than BEING, yet in all honesty (we really know) it is ALL ABOUT CHARACTER and becoming more like Jesus.

I want to encourage you to SLOW DOWN AND SMELL THE ROSES and set aside some quality time EVERY DAY and just sit in the Lord’s presence, clear the decks, and enter His gates with THANKSGIVING, & PRAISE & WORSHIP, and hear the “still small voice of the Spirit”.

WITH THE LORD’S HELP “JUST DO IT”
