MILITARY TRAINING FOR EVERY BELIEVER (2)

Before we start to look at each of the 7 weapons that make up THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD, the Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Cor.10:4 NKJV For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

MESSAGE The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture.

The weapons God has made available to us, are not man made, or worldly (N.LT.) but are MIGHTY IN GOD, so they can pull down strongholds which we developed (in our mind) before we came to Christ, we did not realize that the things we looked at, and thought about and did, can become such a stronghold and control our minds, even after we come to Christ and are born again.

We have sure come to see since we have been born again, that the MIND IS THE BATTLEFIELD OF THE SOUL, AND EVERY BATTLE IS WON OR LOST IN OUR MIND.

In Eph. 6 Paul lists 7 pieces of armour, we will start from the head

1. The Helmet of Salvation
2. The Breastplate of Righteousness
3. The Belt (or skirt) of Truth
4. The Shield of Faith
5. The Sword of the Spirit
6. The shoes of Peace
7. Prayer

There is so much truth in all these 7 pieces of armour, some we know already, others are a growing revelation, and some may be totally new to some Believers. I would suggest we all need to be reminded over and over again about them, and how to use them.

In verse 10 N.L.T. Paul reminds us we are in a war with the devil and all his assistants, and the only way to win the war and demolish the devil’s attacks is to put on this complete set of armour, and only then will we be strong and know God’s power working within us, Paul says “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.”.

God’s people need to know and realize by revelation that the indwelling Holy Spirit wants to work in us and through us to deal with all our enemies.

Eph. 3:20 N.L.T. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

What a list of enemies we have contending with us.

PASSION Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.

NKJV For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

It is not that important that we know all about our enemies, it is much more important we know about their schemes and methodology and of course what our inheritance in Christ is,(What God has made available for us) to deal with all these demonic spirits.

Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5:8 NKJV Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

N.L.T. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

PASSION Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour.

MESSAGE Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping.

The first piece of armour is the HELMENT OF SALVATION, we read in verse 17 NKJV

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (Rhema) of God.

You may not have a “stronghold” in your mind, but every Believer is so aware of the “birds” that fly around their heard. The devil love to place DOUBTS in our mind about “our Salvation”. It is interesting that Paul has linked the helmet with the Sword of the Spirit which is the Rhema of God.

When a doubt comes, meditate afresh on 2 Tim.1:12 NKJV for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

The MESSAGE says I have no regrets. I couldn’t be more sure of my ground—the One I’ve trusted in can take care of what he’s trusted me to do right to the end.

As the Holy Spirit QUICKENS this verse to you, and it becomes a personal Rhema Word, CONFESS IT in your praying, and use it as a Sword as a weapon of defense, and go on and CONFESS 1 John 5:13 NKJV These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Tell the devil you know because you know, because you know you are Born again, you are a New Creation, the Blood of Jesus Christ God’s son has cleansed your heart from all sin 1 John 1:7 NKJV

The more you confess the Word of God (this is resistance trainingi) the more the devil must run James 4:7 N.L.T Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The moment you are aware the “birds” are flying around your head, YOU MUST PUT ON THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and start using it by confessing the Word of God against the evil one. I recommend you have a long list of Rhema Words that you can immediately take and use, such as:

Deut. 28:13

Rev. 12:11

John 6:31’3236

Rom.8:37

Rom. 8:1

2 Peter 1:3

Phil. 4:13

2 Cor. 5:21

If you look at the list of the weapons, you will see that virtually all of the them have their roots in THE WORD OF GOD. You cannot have too much of the Word of God in your life.
