BASIC MILITARY TRAINING FOR THE BELIEVER 18)

In my last blog on this topic, I thought I had come to the end of this series, but feel I need to add one more and I trust this will definitely conclude the series.

If we had been told 6 months ago we would be entering a STATE OF DISASTER, we would not have believed them, the Covid-19 epidemic slowly moved into a pandemic, and we started to get used to the restrictions, and were simply praying that the “curve” would flatten and we could get back to a degree of normalcy, but instead it has so got out of hand for so many in our State the restrictions have dramatically increased, and it is time to PRAY like never before.

Like so many pressures, stresses and problems in life, they may begin small and are often of our own creation or the creation of another human being, and because of the subtly and deception of the evil one, we often don’t quickly realise the enemy takes every opportunity to get his grubby hands into these types of situations.

Let me say again, because I am totally committed to THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD, I know God was not at all surprised about this outbreak, I personally don’t believe God created it, but He has permitted it for a purpose/s. Many are saying it is the judgement of God on the world, I honestly don’t know. Equally many are saying it is a direct attack by the evil one on the world, again I honestly do not know, but I do believe he has subtly got his grubby hands into the situation and making it so much worse.

The concluding emphases in this series on the BASIC MILITARY TRAINING FOR THE BELIEVER has been that we must move offensively and defensively against the enemy, using all the pieces of armour God has made available to the Believer.

At least one aspect of God’s purpose in this matter is THAT GOD’S PEOPLE NEED TO PRAY LIKE NEVER BEFORE, this will surely include Repentance and drawing nearer to God, and committing themselves to live holy lives. To also pray for those people in their world (especially those that are not yet Believers) that they would be convicted, of sin and lack of righteousness and a coming judgement.

Then to pray DEFENSIVELY against the enemy, and see his works brought to nothing.

We also need to be on the alert for our brothers and sisters in Christ who maybe are becoming fearful about the virus or even that their mental health could be effected, we must pray that the Lord would strengthen them,(and we come alongside to encourage them too) and also so the enemy does not subtly and deceitfully begin to impact their minds with fear, and effect their mental health we MUST MOVE OFFENSIVELY AGAINST THE DEVIL ON THEIR BEHALF AND SEE HIM RUN AWAY.

For many much of this teaching on the THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD (and knowing how to use it) is completely new, some of it has been new to me also. so let us take this opportunity to practice what we have learnt (at this time) and stand OFFENSIBLY & DEFENCIBLY against our enemy and see him FLEE, and not forget we must do this CONTINUALLY as this “state of war” will continue until we breathe our last breath, or Jesus breaks through the clouds.

Let me remind you in conclusion this truth, if we do things God’s way:

2 Cor.2:14 PASSION God always makes his grace visible in Christ, who includes us as partners of his endless triumph.
