A CALL TO REPENTANCE & PRAYER.
My readers know that an increasing part of my ministry now in my senior years is that of INTERCESSION, I guess a couple of years ago, I actually started praying the words of the Disciples “LORD TEACH ME HOW TO PRAY’ as in all honesty I have felt that I was still just a novice in the area of prayer. The Lord has sure helped me and taught me so much, ans yet I still feel I am a novice. My prayer led me into spending more time praying for the nations and other ministry friends around the word, in these last few months there has been a huge increase in needs, that have been brought to my attention requesting prayer, for physical, emotional, spiritual and demonic needs and I have happily embraced these needs and sought to intercede more and more for them.
I have said a few times lately, if ever there was a time to pray it is now, yet so many of God’s people seem to be “too busy”, or sadly as I wrote yesterday are letting the fears of Covid-19 really get to them. May the Holy Spirit remind us of James’s words (James 5:16 KJV) The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
AMP.N.T. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
N.L.T. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
PASSION tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer!
Jesus tells us in the Sermon on the Mount Matt.7:7 AMP.N.T, Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be OPENED to you.
PASSION Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.
Jesus tells us PERSISTENCE PRODUCES RESULTS. In another context nearly sixty years ago a sister said to me, WHEN YOU GET DESPERATE YOU WILL RECEIVE, I have never forgotten that statement.
Here is a third promise found in 1 John 5:14 PASSION Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we present any request agreeable to his will, he will hear us.
AMP.N.T. And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.
I have listed these three scriptures (and translations) to show the Word of God is replete with glorious promises in relation to prayer.
Yet, prayer is still the GREATEST CHALLENGE TO MOST BELIEVERS, and we read one of the saddest verses in the Bible in Ez.22:30 NKJV So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and STAND IN THE GAP before Me on behalf of the land.
N.L.T. I searched for someone to STAND IN THE GAP in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.
“Stand in the Gap” describes so perfectly what Intercession is all about, and sadly God tells Ezekiel He could not find anyone to do just that.
I am so glad today that someone STANDS IN THE GAP FOR US, for speaking personally, WITHOUT HIM I CAN DO NOTHING. HIS NAME IS JESUS.
Rom.8:34 AMP N.T. Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?
NKJV who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
MESSAGE Is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.
PASSION he is continually praying for our triumph?
This is` what we call the THE UNFINISHED WORK OF CHRIST, I am so glad Jesus “stands in the Gap” for me, I really do not know where I would be if He didn’t
Saints, can you hear THE CALL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT to the Church today, WE MUST STAND IN THE GAP FOR OUR NATION, firstly for a
HOLY SPIRIT REVIVAL, in the Church, and then an awesome ingathering of precious souls.
THAT WE FLATTEN THE CURVE, AND A VACCINE IS CREATED.
Leonard Ravenhill in his book “Why Revival tarries” says the greatest sin in the Church THE SIN OF PRAYERLESSNESS.
“Lord help us to repent of our prayerlessness , and lay hold of you and WRESTLE WITH YOU until we see a breakthrough. amen”.
