LET US LOOK TO JESUS

By John Ollis

I don’t think anyone alive at this time, has ever experienced a year like what is happening in our time. Politically there are eruptions in Eastern Europe (Belarus), Africa (Mali), China is flexing its muscles against numerous countries, then add to that the Covid-19 Pandemic which impacting almost the whole world especially U.S.A., Brazil, India, I was encouraged to see a great drop in numbers in our state today, the best in 5 weeks, living in a state of Disaster is not fun.

Saying all that, GOD IS NOT SURPRISED, He knew in eternity past about all this, and has permitted it for a purpose, and surely one major purpose if for His creation to turn to Him in repentance. I heard early this morning on the radio, (I was half asleep) that there is a rising interest in spiritual things, specifically where I cannot confirm).

I will ever be thankful to the Lord for the truth I have seen about us being able to offensibly as well as defensibly stand against the enemy, as he sure has his grubby hands in all that is going on at this time.

My readERs know I ever want to hold truth in balance both personally, and anything iI may write Pastorally to encouraage those who read my blogs.

I was great blessed a few days ago, As the Lord brought some verses to my heart, that I have meditated much on before I decided to write this blog, let me draw your attention to Psalm 91:15-16 NKJV.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

PASSION I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,
and you will find and feel my presence
even in your time of pressure and trouble.
I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast.
You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you.
For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”

MESSAGE Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”

Let us NEVER concentrate more on the problem and the enemy, but use the opportunity to spend more time as the Psalmist encourages us to SEEK THE LORD AND SPEND TIME IN HIS PRESENCE, God has promised to be with us (in trouble) and He not only hears but promises to deliver us, I suggest we continue to cry out to the Lord, until the troublesome time goes or He personally delivers us from a particular situation, God goes on and says He will honour us, I simply say I WILL GIVE ALL THE HONOUR AND GLORY TO HIM, as I enjoy my satisfied long life.

It is my intention to spend some time meditating in the Book of James, but the other verse that has blest me of late is an old favourite, James 4:8 NKJV

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

PASSION Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you.

What a glorious promise, as we make that simple move, God will draw nearer and nearer to us.

So my simple word today is don’t look at the problems, LOOK TO JESUS Heb. 12:2 NKJV looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let’s do it amen.
