WILL YOU ASK FOR THE NATIONS?
I wrote yesterday about letting the WORD OF GOD WORK IN OUR LIVES, and my thoughts yesterday was about finding the answer to all our needs in and through the Word of God during this pandemic, Today, I want to write about continuing to feed on the Word of God and about lifting our eyes off ourselves to the nations and continents of the earth.
I had the privilege of meeting and knowing the late Sister Ruth Heflin, her ministry was such a blessing to me, not only in the area of deepening our worship before the Lord, but praying for the nations.
Some of the words of a song she wrote rings in my ears and heart today.
I ASK FOR THE NATIONS, I CALL THEM BY NAME, I PRESENT THEM TO THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME, MAY THEY NOT BE FOUND NAKED, MAY THEY NOT BE ASHAMED WHEN THEY STAND BEFORE YOU ON THAT GREAT JUDGEMENT DAY.
Her words echo God’s promise to us in Psalm 2:8
NKJV Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as an inheritance.
N.L.T. Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance,
PASSION Ask me to give you the nations and I will do it
MESSAGE What do you want? Name it: nations as a present?
Nations as a present? continents as a prize? Continents as a prize.
The Lord is using this pandemic, to call the Church back to the “old paths” which includes INTERCESSORY PRAYER, not only that we walk in holiness and purity, but that we fulfil THE GREAT COMMISSION. Not only in our Jerusalem, or our near Judea & Samaria, but the uttermost parts of the earth Acts 1:8 NKJV But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Jesus commanded His first century disciples and His 21st century disciples (that’s us) in Matt. 28:18-20 NKJV Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
MESSAGE Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
The Greek work for nations is “ethnos”, where we get the English word “ethnic”, we are commanded to go to every “ethnic group in the world (there are numerous ethic groups in your town right now).
We cannot all physically go to the nations of the earth, BUT WE CAN GO TO THE NATIONS ON OUR KNEES.
Has there ever in history been a more important time, for us to see the urgency of the Lord’s command and His glorious promise in Psalm 2:8.
The key word is ASK and keep on asking, every previous revival in history, has happened because God’s people began to ask, (sometimes for years before the answer came).
I have had the awesome privilege of visiting many nations of the earth, and have ministered In over 25 nations of the earth especially in South East Asia, nations that are held in bondage and blindness by Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Communism etc. all these religions WERE BORN IN THE PIT OF HELL BY THE EVIL ONE, TO BLIND THE EYES OF GOD’S CREATION.
I would suggest that our intercession must include offencive and defensive spiritual warfare, against the evil one, do you feel the urgency of the hour??? Thailand for example is around 1.5% Christian after 200+ years of missionary endeavor, IT IS TIME TO PRAY LIKE NEVER BEFORE.
South Korea I understand is close to 50% Christian, living under the threat of war for many years, caused the Church to start early morning Prayer Meetings, weekly All Nights of Prayer, and built Pray Mountains, where Christians go just to pray.
As a result Dr. Yonggi Cho has declared “The Church in South Korea MOVES UNDER AN OPEN HEAVEN. The spiritual forces have been driven back, and there has been a massive ingathering into the Kingdom of God.
I said recently “I am not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet, but I believe this is a NOW WORD, May we have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church, and let us respond and sacrifice time and even sleep, and ASK FOR THE NATIONS AS OUR INHERITANCE. AMEN.
