LIVING AND WALKING IN VICTORY

By John Ollis

I guess it was in the late 1970’s we began singing at the end of a church service a great Doxology taken from Jude 24-5. KJV.

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

It is a scripture that I truly love, it so happens at out front door (on the inside) is a lovely cross stitch hanging, made by Margaret quite a few years ago which ever reminds me of this truth and of course I see it every time I leave our Villa through the front door.

I am going to list a number of translations of these verses here.

NKJV Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen.

N.L.T. Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.

PASSION Now, to the one with enough power to prevent you from stumbling into sin and bring you faultless before his glorious presence to stand before him with ecstatic delight, to the only God our Savior, through our Lord Jesus Christ, be endless glory and majesty, great power and authority—from before he created time, now, and throughout all the ages of eternity. Amen!

AMP. N.T. Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight]—
To the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so be it).

MESSAGE And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating— to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.

Everyone of these translations so clearly expresses this awesome truth that every Believer can live and walk in victory and purity.

NOT THAT WE CANNOT SIN BUT NEED NOT SIN

The Apostle Peter tells us in 2 Peter 1:3 NKJV His divine power has given to us things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

AMP. N.T. For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).
By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.

MESSAGE For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).
By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.

How does God keep us from falling into sin? It is through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have been given an inheritance that includes ever key and weapon that is required for us to deal with every temptation and to walk in victory.

This again highlights the essential need of Biblical Discipleship so that a new Believer knows and is constantly reminded ofALL THAT IS AVAILABLE TO HIM NOW.

Paul tells us in Romans 8:37 NKJV Yet in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORSthrough Him who loved us.

I head a Preacher say “we can come through the battle without a scratch” I like that, and believe it is true.

MESSAGE None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.

Paul again tells us in Phil. 4:13 NKJV I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.

Again, Paul tells us in 2 Cor. 2:14 KJV Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causeth us to triumph in Christ,

Not just sometimes, but always but through all that has been made available to us.

Let me remind you of the glorious promise in Isaiah 54:17 NKJV No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

I am sure not suggesting the battles are always easy, but over and above all the keys and armour that God has given us, there is the PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS, let us humble ourselves and request prayer from our brothers and sisters in Christ,

Let is also never forget what Heb. 7:25 NKJV tells us is Christ’s unfished work for us Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ALWAYS lives to make intercession for them.

This blog is sure not to condemn anyone, for sadly we all fail, and we thank God for 1 John 1:9 NKJV If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

AMP. N.T. If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (TRUE TO HIS OWN NATURE AND PROMISESt) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

May the Holy Spirit, reveal to us what a glorious inheritance we have NOW in Christ, and by His grace seek to live above sin.

remember it is not we cannot sin but need not sin

WordPress tells me this is my eleven hundredth blog today, and I think the topic was worth writing afresh about today, I trust you agree?
