THE DYNAMIC LIFE CHANGING WORD OF GOD

By John Ollis

I love beautiful flourishing colourful gardens, but I have never enjoyed gardening, as a child I was never exposed to gardening in any form. Common sense tells me, that to have a beautiful garden, there needs to be much preparation of the soil, if one is to have a successful garden. I know farmers spend much time in soil preparation long before the seed is sown, so that can get a bountiful harvest.

In these past few years there has been one revelation to me that has been life changing, and that is the DYNAMIC POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD, so that continually there can be work of grace taking place in our lives.

I have written many times encouraging Believers NOT to open their Bibles until they have prayed first and prepared their hearts, so that there is no hindrance or blockage to receiving God’s Word, the Psalmist tells us in Psalm 119:130 NKJV The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
PASSION Break open your word within me until revelation-light shines out.

The Apostle peter describes the Word of God as the incorruptible seed (sperma) 1 Peter 1:23AMP.N.T.You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. If we want to hear from God and His Word, we must diligently do everything we can, so that there is no hindrance to spiritual conception takes place when we spend time reading and meditating on the Word of God.

I am not a Greek Scholar, but there are many times as we read the Word of God it would be good if we were, as so often there are numerous different words in the Greek text, that shine a different light on the truth. Paul tells us in Rom. 10:17 NKJV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word (Rhema) of God.

AMP.N.T So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).

PASSION Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.

There are 2 main Greek words that are translated into English, one of Logos, which is the written word of God, and this is used much in the New Testament, then there is RHEMA as seen in these above translations of Rom. 10:17 means a living utterance, this is where we can experience that 12 inch drop from head to heart, where the INFORMATION BECOMES REVELATION and is dynamic and life changing. Paul tells us here that the Rhema Word produces FAITH IN OUR HEARTS.

The Psalmist often used the word QUICKENED, describing when the Word moves in our spirit. In the past a woman only knew she was pregnant when she felt the baby move for the first time in her womb, and this was called the QUICKENING.

Other places in the N.T, the word Rhema is used is found in:

Matt. 4:4 NKJV But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (Rhema) that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Rom.10:8 NKJV But what does it say? “The word (Rhema) is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”.

Ephesians 5:26 NKJV that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, (Rhema), this is the sanctifying ministry of the Rhema Word.

Eph.6:17 NKJV And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (Rhema) of God;

Just this week, I read again 2 Peter 1:4 NKJV which I have read so many times before which reinforces all the above.

2 Peter 1:3-4 NKJV His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

PASSION As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.

N.L.T. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

MESSAGE We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.

In previous blogs I have quoted verse 3 many times, referring to all that God has made available to us and has given us, and here Peter tells us what the Word (Rhema) wants to do in us. I don’t know how it works, but Peter tells us that through these GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES, we become partakers of the divine nature.

I guess I have not said one new thing in this blog today, but to encourage and challenge you to prepare your hearts through prayer and let the Rhema Word work in you more and more, so that MORE AND MORE WE SHOW FORTH THE LIKENESS AND NATURE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

I sure want to be more like Jesus, we cannot accomplish this by our own efforts, but through the Word of God which is part of our glorious inheritance made available to us through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

May 2 Cor. 3:18 NKJV be our daily constant experience But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

I URGE YOU TO CONSTANLY LET THE WORD WORK IN YOU.
