MY MILESTONE AND TESTIMONY

On Sunday 10 October I celebrate a major Milestone/Anniversary. I have written about the event numerous times. On that Sunday 70 years ago, at the conclusion of the Sunday School class I attended, I was invited to respond to the claims of the Gospel, and repent and ask Jesus to come into my heart. It was 70 years ago and I was 10 years old, I could not explain then what took place in my life, but I knew something very significant had taken place within me.

Paul describes what I experienced in 2 Cor. 5:17 KJV Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new..

In Col. 1:13 KJV Paul says Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

The Apostle John in Rev. 21:27 KJV tells me my name was written in the Lamb’s book of Life.

Before God created the world, He chose me, He knows my name, in Eph. 1:4 KJV says According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world.

These glorious truths have become so clear to me over the years, and I cannot but bow humbly before the Lord, and thank Him that He chose this wretched sinner to be part of His eternal family.

Of course, there are many highs and lows in our lives, physically there can be challenges which seem to accentuate more as you age, and we have an enemy who will do anything to seek to rob us of THIS SO GREAT SALVATION. Sadly, many people when they pray the “Sinner’s Prayer” they are told they are now a Christian, even though many do not actually become aware that something has taken place in their lives. THAT IS WHY BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP IS SO IMPORTANT .

I sure knew I was born again, but I didn’t know what was included in my “born again experience” was an awesome inheritance that can enable me to deal with every attack of the evil one, slowly but surely (after 70 years) I am learning what is available to me now and that as Paul says in Eph. 1:3 KJV that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. I sure haven’t arrived there yet, but am learning every day to seek to experience 1 John 1:7 KJV But if we walk in the light, (OF HIS WORD AND MY CONSCIENCE) as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

I am the product of alcoholic parents, and naturally did not have an exciting future to look forward too, but Jesus changed all that, not only did he call me out of darkness, but placed a call on my life to serve Him in the Ministry. He gave me SHEPHERD’S HEART to care and feed the flock of God. He led me into teaching the Word of God, not so much as a scholar and theologian but to assist those training for the ministry. This has taken me to over 25 different nations, and given me many “sons in the faith”.

God gave me a wife who has walked with me and supported me not only as a husband but as a Minister of the Lord for 56+ years. We are blessed to have 2 sons who are living for the Lord, and they have given us 5 grandchildren.

So, on Sunday 10th I am celebrating this milestone and then as now GIVING GOD ALL THE HONOUR AND GLORY FOR HIS SO GREAT SALVATION.

We are living in such momentous days, it would seem that we are not far away from the time the Lord could wrap up everything up, and we who know the Lord will be forever with Him, but until then I will seek with His help to be more effective and fruitful in loving and serving Him amen.
