ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE INTERNAL TEACHER?
Theologians teach us that before we were born again the only thing operating in the human spirit is OUR CONSCIENCE, and sadly we can sure do a lot of damage to it prior to being translated into the Kingdom of God. Paul writing to Timothy in 1 Tim. 4:2 NKJV speaks of people “having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” When the Holy Spirit comes into our life when we are born again He wants to renew our conscience, so we are aware of God’s presence and to hear His voice in our life, especially for us to recognise and be sensitive to what is right and what is wrong.
Two other things begin to operate when we are born again, we have an ability to COMMUNE WITH GOD IN PRAYER, please read my last blog on the “call to prayer”. There is also what is called INTUITION which may be better described as he internal Teacher, the blessed Holy Spirit who wants to lead us into all truth John 16:13 NKJV When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
King David prayed in Psalm 25:4-5 NKJV Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and TEACH me. for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.
PASSION Lord, direct me throughout my journey
so I can experience your plans for my life.
Reveal the life-paths that are pleasing to you.
Escort me along the way; take me by the hand and teach me.
For you are the God of my increasing salvation;
I have wrapped my heart into yours!
N.L.T. Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
MESSAGE Show me how you work, God;
School me in your ways.
Take me by the hand;
Lead me down the path of truth.
You are my Savior, aren’t you?
The more I meditate on this verse, the more I feel it ought to be my heart cry and prayer every day.
What a privilege it is to have a TEACHER ON THER INSIDE, who wants to teach us and lead us in every aspect of our lives, if only we would ASK HIM, I am so glad David said I “wait on You all day” we must maintain this attitude of prayer, and having an ear to hear. 5 times in the Letters to the 7 Churches in revelation “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches”.
I love the MESSAGE TRANSLATION that says “School me in your ways, lead me down the right path”
Let us ever have the attitude WE NEVER GRADUATE FROM GOD’S SCHOOL, but ever have an attitude, we must continue to listen and learn and obey as the Lord speaks to us and teaches us. Spend quality time in the Word of God every day after you have prepared your heart to hear God speak to you and teach you that way wee should go.
