In our day to day living we are constantly making choices, in almost every area of our lives. In the spiritual realm this is also true (or should be true).

The most important decision/choice we will ever make is responding to the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, and repenting of our sins and asking the Lord Jesus to come into our lives and as the Bible describes it we are BORN AGAIN, and we receive that assurance our sins have been forgiven, and we know by the Holy Spirit, our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

As we start to grow in grace and begin to read and meditate on the Word of God there are many other CHOICES we must learn to make. We sure don’t need to know the Greek or Hebrew languages, but for example in the Greek text, when choices are written in the Bible to the Believer and it is translated in the English present tense, it is almost exclusively in what is called the Aorist tense which means both PRESENT TENSE AND ALSO MUST BE DONE CONTINUOUSLY. let me share some important continuous choices.

We all know that the human heart is “deceitful and wicked” and very selfish, and it is easy to take for granted the constant blessings and goodness of God this is regularly poured out in our lives. The hymn writer reminds us TO COUNT OUR BLESSINGS AND NAME THEM ONE BY ONE (SOME SAY “TON BY TON”. LET US DEVELOP AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. Look at your concordance and see how many times Thanksgiving and thankfulness is used in the Scriptures.

Romans 12:1 NKJV tells us I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Please note it is an act of worship, and is an essential key to transforming and renewing of our MIND. I mentioned recently in a blog that “the problem with a living sacrifice it is always wanting to crawl off the altar. I often pray this truth as expressed in Psalm 118:27 NKJV God is the Lord, And He has given us light;
Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. Jesus tie me down to the altar, Sovereign Lord RULE AND REIGN IN ME.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. PUT on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
STAND therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, TAKING the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And TAKE the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Although the enemy has been defeated, and he continually seeks to trespass, as we continually put on the armour God has prepared for us as part of our “so great Salvation, WE CAN CONTINUALLY WIN EVERY BATTLE.

LEARNING TO CONTINUALLY RE-AFFIRM THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD. Romans 8:28 NKJV And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the CALLED according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. Many things happen in life that we do not understand, only as we continually re-affirm God’s Sovereignty, we will not lose our peace, as we acknowledge, we may not know what is going on, but the Lord has permitted it for a purpose, and often it is because God wants to do a work of sanctifying grace in our lives. Sometimes it is years later we can see God’s hand, HINDSIGHT IS 20/20 VISION.

LEARNING TO CONINUALLY RESISTING THE DEVIL AND SEEING HIM FLEE. James 4:7 NKJV Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

MESSAGE So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper.

PASSION So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you.

N.L.T. So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Continual surrender (Rom.12:1) and continual resistance and the enemy must scamper away. We resist from the position of surrender, and the trespasser has to scurry away.

These choices above (and there are many more in the Scriptures), have become so important to me personally, and as I seek to CONTINUOUSLY MAKE THESE CHOICES I AM GUARANTEED VICTORY AND SUCCESS.

I have probably not said one new thing in this blog, but sadly, it is “TELL ME THR STORY OFTEN FOR I FORGET SO SOON. As you meditate on this totally important truth, may it become a greater revelation to you, from information to revelation, from Logos to Rhema, LET THE WORD WORK AMEN.
