KING DAVID’S KEYS TO DEEPER INTIMACY WITH THE LORD.
Some of my readers know that I describe prayer as
THE INTIMATE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN TWO LOVERS
The very title suggests an ever deepening relationship with the Lord, as the Believer grows in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
When a Believer sees the awesome truth that GOD IS SOVEREIGN, he realises God sees into the deepest recesses of his heart, and KNOWS EVERYTHING THAT IS GOING ON IN his LIFE, and that as Paul declares in Rom.8:28 -30 NKJV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Nothing happens in our lives that does not come without God’s permission, for God has a purpose, and that is to use the particular circumstance to make us more like Jesus, we sure may not understand nor be thrilled about it, but we will always find GOD’S GRACE IS ALWAYS SUFFICIENT IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
You may have heard the statement HINDSIGHT IS 20/20 VISION. We look back and see God’s hand in every situation.
So this increased understanding of God’s sovereignty, causes us as we see God’s does knows everything we learn to be totally honest with Him, this honesty deepens our RELATIONSHIP AND RELIANCE ON THE LORD AND INCREASES OUR INTIMACY WITH HIM.
King David had an awesome intimate relationship with the Lord, and I love his expression to the Lord in Psalm 143:8 NLT Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
He met with the LOVER OF HIS SOUL EACH MORNING,
He asked every day for the Lord to lead Him
He daily surrendered to the Lord.
May I simply leave these thoughts with you, and encourage you to keep falling in love with Jesus every day, to ask the Lord to lead you, and surrender yourself continually to the Lord.
Meditate on this verse, and look at other translations, let it become a Rhema Word to you.
