WILL YOU CLAIM A HOLY SPIRIT REVIVAL WITH ME?
No one would argue that we are living in very difficult days especially in relation to the Christian Church around the world. It would seem there has never been so much attack and persecution on the Church ands Christians at any time in history. There is for example a fresh wave of persecution in China against the Church and if all the reports are true Christians and buildings are being attacked continually in Africa. One of our rugby players here in Australia could lose his career this week because he quoted the Scripture that adulterers and homosexuals etc. would be punished in hell for eternity.
This can be very discouraging to a Christian and many of them are seeing the churches they attends reduce in number and threatened with closure here in Australia. Plus many denominations are compromising the truths of the Word of God, and permitting what for 2000 years was considered heresy now as acceptable to believe and practice. Then on every hand there are potential signs of the Lord’s soon return, remember to keep an eye on Israel and the Middle East, it could easily at any time break out into open warfare. There seems to be many wars and rumours of wars, and climatic problems, like earthquakes, and floods and tornadoes, and then also damaging droughts, we need to look up, not just to expect to see the Lord break through the clouds, but look to the Lord to do that new thing, mentioned below that will cause millions to bow the knee and declare that Jesus Christ is Lord.
In Isaiah 43:19-21 NKJV Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.
The beast of the field will honor Me,
The jackals and the ostriches,
Because I give waters in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My people, My chosen.
This people I have formed for Myself;
They shall declare My praise.
As Believers we must take our eyes off the decay and corruption we see in our world, and start to claim the promises of God to His people, it is not too late to see a mighty Holy Spirit revival in our land.
As I have studied the History of revivals down through the centuries, many (if not the most) have been the product of concerted genuine prayer even over a number of years) and millions of people have been ushered into the Kingdom of God. I understand also for example that in the late 1980’s there began a rise in prayer against the spirit of communism in Europe, and by 1990 this atheist ideology fell all over Europe. In the last few years the churches in Malaysia began to pray earnestly against the political situation in that nation. We saw the political party that had been in power since Federation thrown out, and major changes have been taking place in that nation. On the 18th May we have national elections here in Australia, and again it would seem to me that we need to pray like never before, as the challenges and needs here are so great., and many policies proposed by some candidates would hurt and injure not just our nation but the Church as well.
Interestingly, some revivals seem to have happened sovereignly, and I am going to start praying and asking and thanking (in faith) God to move sovereignly across our nation. There have been numerous reports over the last year or so, of some encouraging signs of positive spiritual activity happening. We were also blest to have Franklin Graham visit Australia recently to conduct mini crusades across our nation, and thousands made decisions for Christ, I do pray they were followed up and are being discipled.
Others are saying 2019 is going to be a “Year of GOD’S FAVOUR” not only here in Australia but around the world, let us start confessing this and thanking God in anticipation that it will truly be so. Let us also pray that God will raise up hundreds (no thousands) of Intercessors who would stand in the gap and lay hold of God in prayer for our (your) nation. Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land. So to those who read this simple blog today will not be overwhelmed by all they negatives they see with their natural eyes, but will start to claim God’s promises for their nation.
