HOW IS YOUR HEARING THESE DAYS ???

Many of us men, are accused of suffering from “SELECTIVE DEAFNESS” and have learnt the art to grunt or nod in the right places, and at the end of the conversation hardly have a clue what the discussion was all about.

Then, there are other people who suffer with a build up of wax in their ears, so that sounds are not clearly heard, and the wax must be removed from time to time so that one can hear clearly.

Then there are others like myself who require hearing aids to assist their hearing, this is a common problem with the aging process, and in my case, I still often miss out hearing some of the conversation.

Sadly, these conditions can be just as apparent in our spiritual lives, some Christians have “SELECTIVE DEAFNESS” in that they only want to hear those things that please them and suits their situation.

Other Christians can have a build up of “spiritual wax” in their ears otherwise known as SIN, that stops them hearing God speak to them, they also wonder why their prayers are not being answered because God is not listening either as we read in Psalm 66:18 NLT If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

Other Christians sadly because they have been a believer many years, can get slack and lazy, and SIMPLY DO NOT LISTEN.

An essential part of our Christian life and our growing in grace, is to learn to DAILY hear the Lord speaking to us.

The primary way God speaks to us is THROUGH HIS WORD, that is why we must learn not to just read but must also learn to MEDITATE on the Word of God, so that the written Word, becomes a LIVING (RHEMA) WORD.

I believe we are also to learn to hear the STILL SMALL VOICE OF GOD (in our spirit) 1 Kings 19:12 KJV And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a STILL SMALL VOICE. I sincerely believe God wants to talk to us EVERY DAY, and many of us need Mentoring to assist us to learn to discern God’s voice, amongst the many other voices in the world, as Paul says in 1 Cor. 14:10 NKJV There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. Ever keep in mind that whenever you think God is speaking to you, what is said, MUST ALWAYS LINE UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD.

I am so glad the Lord also speaks to us through the preaching and teaching of God’s word, and sometimes the Lord can use a brother or sister share with us, that truly is a word from God.

So how is your hearing????? just as we can have 20/20 vision, may we have 20/20 hearing amen.
