DON'T CONDEMN, BUT PRAY FOR PEOPLE YOU DISAGREE WITH.

By John Ollis

There is one matter that has really saddened and disappointed me over the last few years, and I am surprised that it has taken me so long to write about it.
It is probably in the region of literally 100’s of posts  that I have read on FB where I have read where people were CASTIGATING, CRITICIZING, AND CONDEMNING ministries from around the world because of some aspect of their teaching.  I am not suggesting that any ministry has got their total theology correct (and some of us who think we have are going to be very surprised when we stand before the Lord.
I have never written personally and named a person I disagreed with, there is only  one person though because  I have many friends who attend his church that I have mentioned his name and criticised what I believe is his “cheap grace” teaching. As a Pastor I have seen the results of his teaching in my friends lives, and it has really saddened me. I should not have mentioned his name, but at least I believe I had every right to warn people against the unbiblical teaching, and I have asked the Lord to forgive me for mentioning his name. I am aware that John in his epistles highlights a person, but this should be the exception to the rule.
As a young man I was challenged by 1 Chron. 16:22
AMP .O.T. Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm
NLT “Do not touch my chosen people, and do not touch my prophets”
MESSAGE Bible Don’t you dare touch my anointed ones, don’t lay hands on my prophets.
Of course, if there is obvious error in a man’s teaching, then it needs to be challenged, directing people to the Word of God. Let us pray much for the Lord’s servants especially those who have  international prominence, that the Lord would “turn the light on” and give them Biblical revelation that leads them into truth Amen.
Jesus said to His disciples in Matt. 25:45 NKJV inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ I would suggest the reverse principle be just as valid  that what we say about one of the Lord’s servants is also criticising the Lord who indwells them.
May the words of the Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 3:8 AMP N.T. be the aim of all we do.
Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble).
Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God—that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].
On most things lets just keep it simple.
Spurgeon said My Theology is spelt out in 4 words JESUS DIED FOR ME.
