OUR SOVEREIGN GOD
The Word of God continually asks us to seek the Lord in prayer for our needs and for the needs of others. I love the AMP.N.T. translation of Luke 11:9 So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.
Jesus encourages us to persist in our praying, there are some who would say pray once and leave it with the Lord, we must be like the widow who continually pleaded with the judge in Luke 18 until she got an answer to her cry.
I am reminded of God’s words in Isaiah 60:22 NLT At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
In all our praying we must be convinced of the Sovereignty of God, His ways and thoughts are often very different to ours, God knows the beginning from the end of all things, He knows what is best for us, God has promised to answer our prayers, but it many be a yes, or a no or not yet, or even something totally different to what we were expecting, GOD KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR US.
I have written recently a blog referring to Psalm 91:15-16 AMP. O.T. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.
N.L.T. When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”
PASSION I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,
and you will find and feel my presence
even in your time of pressure and trouble.
MESSAGE Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”
This has become a very special verse for me, and every time I read it and confess it, it becomes an even stronger word in my spirit.
Daily, I am calling on the Lord, and I know He is hearing me, and is sure with me, and I believe he will answer my prayer, and I am claiming a long life and will give Him all the honour and glory for His constant goodness and blessing to me.
I also add in my prayer You know what is best for me, and I declare NOT MY WILL BUT THINE BE DONE.
2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic has sure highlighted many things, that God is in control, nothing is happening without His permission, and for us Believers it is all for our good Rom. 8:28 NKJV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Christians do not need to have mental issues at this time, because God is in total control, we just need to bow down, and continue to pray, NOT MY WILL BUT THINE BE DONE.
I read a report recent that said Christians were praying more during the pandemic PRAISE THE LORD, that in itself is an awesome benefit to Believers. Sadly, there are reports that some Christians will not return to public worship after lockdowns, as they have felt the local church just isn’t the “family” or “caring community” they thought it was.
Christians, lets pray and believe for every local church that leaders will realise they must “BUILD THE CHURCH ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN OF THE WORD OF GOD”.
May we look back in 2021 and give thnaks to the Lord for His leading and blessing and goodness to us during the pandemic amen.
