Some people can go to their wardrobe/s and know it is full of clothes, and they have to ask themselves the question “WHAT WILL I WEAR TODAY?”, I am sure not one of those people, although I can testify “I have all I need.

Have you ever thought about the truth/fact the Bible is very much like a wardrobe, and gives us clear teaching on what we should wear and what we should discard and not wear again. Having a Disciple-Maker walk with you as a new Believer is also an important practical way to learn what is in the wardrobe that we must wear and not wear.

I have written much about the set of armour that Paul tells us we must learn to put on and wear we read in Eph. 6:11-18 NKJV

PUT on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

The key word is PUT, there are two things we must do:

  1. We must recognise we need this armour make a decision of our will. to learn put it on.
  2. This must be done continually

There are many things we must learn to put on Paul tells us in Colossians 3:12 KJV PUT on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of MERCIES, KINDNESS,HUMBLENESS OF MIND,MEEKNESS, LONGSUFFERING.

N.L.T. you must CLOTHEc yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

PASSION So ROBE yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others.

MESSAGE DRESS in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline.

Paul tells us in Eph. 4:24 NKJV PUT on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

N.L.T. PUT on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

I am ever reminded of Peter’s words in 2 Peter 1:3 NKJV His divine power has given to us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.

All the above that we must learn to put on has been purchased for us through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO SPEND MUCH TIME GOING TO THE WARDROBE (THE BIBLE) SEEING WHAT IS AVAILABLE TO US, AND TAKE IT AND PUT IT ON AND LEARN TO WEAR IT.

Isaiah prophetically wrote (IS.61:10 NKJV I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

May I encourage you to look at all these verses, and ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding and revelation. Every item we must learn to put on is a truth in its own right, may we learn quickly to put every item on and wear it.

This blog would not be complete if I did not refer to the things we must also PUT OFF, and completely discard if we are to walk in victory, , purity and holinness.

Paul tells in Ephesians and Colossians that we must:

Ephesians 4:22 NKJV PUT OFF, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.

N.L.T. THROW OFF your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.

Col. 3:8 NKJV But now you yourselves are to PUT OFF all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds.

N.L.T. But now is the time to GET RID OF anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

PASSION Now it’s time to ELIMINATE them from your lives once and for all—anger, fits of rage, all forms of hatred, cursing, filthy speech.

This is a challenging but exciting truth, but we must:

We will find afresh, God’s Word is ever true, and He wants to make it CONTINUALLY EXPERIENTIAL in our lives as we walk in daily surrender to Him.

I do pray this blog, blesses and encourages you.
