THANK YOU FATHER,SON AND HOLY SPIRIT FOR YOUR SO GREAT SALVATION (2)
The words LOST IN WONDER, LOVE AND PRAISE, spring to mind as I meditate on God’s SO GREAT SALVATION.I have not had much feedback from yesterday’s blog, I do trust some people are reading it., highlighting Eph. 1:3-6, NKJV. The verses today are 2 Peter :1:3-7 NKJV
as His divine power has GIVEN TO US ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO GODLINESS, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES, that through these you may be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, ADD to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Again I have highlighted some important statements, and will add some other translations here.
N.L.T. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
PASSION Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness. As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.
Faith’s Ladder of Virtue
So devote yourselves to lavishly supplementing your faith with goodness,
and to goodness add understanding,
and to understanding add the strength of self-control,
and to self-control add patient endurance,
and to patient endurance add godliness,
and to godliness add mercy toward your brothers and sisters,
and to mercy toward others add unending love.
MESSAGE Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.
So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.
Peter tells us when we were born again, God gave us ALL THINGS, literally EVERYTHING that we need to live a holy, victorious life. We literally do not have a single excuse, that we cannot walk in victory and purity.
The epistles are literally full of glorious promises, see the epistles as God’s last will and testament spelling out everything that has our name written on it.
Peter, in 1 Peter 1:23 NKJV tells us having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, the AMP.N.T. expresses it this way You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.
That moment we were born again, God planted His divine sperma into the womb of our heart, and spiritual conception took place, and we received the Gift of Eternal life, We now have God’s DNA in us, His Divine nature.
Now, our responsibility is to co-operate with the Lord and ADD those things recorded in 2 Peter 1:5-7 spelt out so beautifully in the PASSION Translation.
If we do these things we are guaranteed the blessing and anointing of the Holy Spirit on our lives.
Sadly, so many Believers don’t know what is available to them, if you don’t have a Mentor, please ask the Lord to lead you to someone who can give you these keys so you can totally and fully enjoy GOD’S SO GREAT SALVATION
