THE SOVEREIGN LORD DOES ALL THINGS WELL
We know Moses lived until he was 120 years old, yet he writes in his Psalm 90:10 NKJV The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, In less than two weeks time I will celebrate my 82ns birthday and I can sure testify to the STRENGTH God has given me over the years, physically, emotionally, mentally as well as spiritual.
The past 18 months have been a challenge physically as I have had tremendous pain in my left knee (and walking was becoming more difficult by the day). I was referred to a ‘Pain Specialist’ who literally did not give me any answers or relief. I chose after all that to request an referral to an Orthopedic Surgeon. He immediately felt all my pain problems were in my hip !!
An xray confirmed he was right and within a week I had a Left Hip replacement (the hip had totally disintegrated and thus all the stress and pressure went to my knee.
After some 6 weeks, the knee pain has decreased tremendously and I am using a walking stick for short walks (instead of always using a Walker.
Although the 18 months prior to surgery was a frustrating time the awesome truth of GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY has become an awesome personal experiential revelation. The Lord has used this time to do a work of Grace in my life for which I will be eternally grateful, Phil.1:6 NKJV tells us being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
My pray has been that the Lord would deal with the pain and under His leading would seek to transition into a ‘new’ ministry.
I have recently been installed as an Elder in our local church, and I sure want to fulfil this role to the best of my ability (and gifting) for His Glory and for the blessing of God’s people.
I sure recognise the Lord wants to complete His ‘work’ in me before He returns or before he takes me home. Like the Apostle Paul I often think of heaven and worshipping with the heavenly host and looking at the ‘Lamb that had been slain’ and be ever reminded of God perfect ‘so great Salvation’.
This simple blog is to say a hearty THANK YOU to the Lord for all that has been accomplished in these paiful months.
