MAKING 2014 A GREAT YEAR (9)

By John Ollis

We now come to Lev. 21.20 and the next defect is a hunchback (NKJV) Crookback (KJV).

Over the years we have seen many people bowed over  with a hunched back. We know these days it can be caused by a calcium deficiency  how it was caused in Moses day we really don’t know. Sadly. I have met many spiritual hunchbacks in my nearly 50 years of ministry. People who are bowed down with worry and often worry about things they could not change. We know worry and lack of trust is a sin and we must do as Peter urged his followers (I Peter 5.7) Casting all your care on Him for He cares for you. Perhaps you need to realise it is a sin, and ask the Lord’s forgiveness, and His continued grace to break this bad habit. Jesus says I have broad shoulders, you are not capable of carrying the cares and worries of the world, bring all your worries to me, and I will carry them for you. If you want 2014 to be a great year you must stop worrying, takes your burdens to the Lord, and leave them there. We are not to live a careless life, but with the Lord helping us we can live a care free life. Don’t think I am not preaching to myself it is to easy to slip into worry, and our enemy also wants to put fears and worries in our heart, and as James tells us, we need to take our God given authority as a believer, and “Submit to God, resist the devil and he must flee” (James 4.7). JUST DO IT.
