WHAT A GLORIOUS PROMISE

I can’t remember the last time I sang that but it was a long time ago.
Let me also say when we look at the promises of God found in the Old Testament we need to pass them through the Cross and apply New Covenant Principles to the verse/s.
Let us look at Deuteronomy 28:1-13. and I am going to let you personally meditate on this awesome promise of God to His people. As an additional confirmation that we can claim this promise is found in the words of the Apostle Paul  in Galatians 3:13-14.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written), cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree, that the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
So let us meditate on this awesome promise verse by verse and you will be blown away.
All promises of God to His people  have OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. verse 1 says.
DILIGENTLY OBEY. not just obey, but do it diligently (be watchful, do it heartily)
OBSERVE CAREFULLY.
The town we live in is very close to our national highway, and if we want to get to any of the main towns and into the City of Melbourne we need to use it. It is a 4 lane dual highway, and the speed limit is 110 kms, an hour. As it is a major artery many very large trucks use it to transport goods and machinery, and some trucks exceed the limit so they can OVERTAKE other drivers. God says in verse 2 “These blessings shall come upon you and OVERTAKE you, because you obey  the voice of the Lord your God. God concludes this awesome promise with “The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only and not beneath , IF  you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you TODAY, and are careful to observe them.
I could write at length on these thirteen verses, but I want to encourage you to mead and MEDITATE  on every aspect of this promise, ask the Holy Spirit to apply it to your personal situation, look at the verses in different translations and let the Holy Spirit “turn the light on” and it will become a Rhema word, a personal revelation to you, and shall bless you beyond your wildest dreams.
