A CALL TO REPENTANCE & INTERCESSORY PRAYER.

By John Ollis

Do you feel the devil and his helpers are working overtime during this unprecedented time with the Covid-19 pandemic? We know for example that millions are experiencing mental health problems including Christians.

I have asked the question as my readers know that an important part of my ministry these days is INTERCESSORY PRAYER, and I am being flooded with prayer requests, especially on behalf of Pastors and Leaders to intercede on behalf of believers around the world, including incurable cancers, powerful demonic attacks, as well as deception and other evil attacks.

I am humbled at the privilege of being able to give my time in this important area, I have had so many requests I have had to create a special Prayer List for these needs, and seek to lay hold of the Lord three times a day on their behalf. I am also continuing to pray for the nations and for revival especially throughout Asia.

I am so thankful for the recent revelation regarding moving OFFENSIBLY AS WELL AS DEFENSIBLY against the enemy, I now see how timely this truth is.

As Paul concluded his teaching on THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD, in Eph. 6:18 AMP.N.T he asked Believers to “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) IN THE SPIRIT , with ALL [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

PASSION Pray passionately IN THE SPIRIT, as you CONSTANTLY INTERCEDE with every form of prayer at all times. Pray the blessings of God upon all his believers.

MESSAGE Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

I would suggest to you the PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT, is not just praying in unknown tongues, but also in the vernacular, it means to me, that I have already prepared my heart , for prayer, by Confession & Repentance, Surrender, Praise, Thanksgiving and Worship, and then your heart is ready to wrestle with God, and STAND IN THE GAP for your fellow Believers.

I of course, highly recommend you use your PRAYER LANGUAGE as well, as Paul tells us in Rom. 8:26-27 AMP. N.T. So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.
And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will.

N.L.T. And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

PASSION And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.

MESSAGE Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God.

The reality is that there are many times when we simply don’t know how to pray, but as we let the Holy Spirit pray through in unknown tongues we know WE ARE PRAYING IN THE WILL OF GOD.

I believe the Holy Spirit is calling the Church not only to REPENTANCE, but to INTERCESSORY PRAYER especially at this time, and as I type this I feel the Holy Spirit is impressing me to add FASTING to this call.

Do we believe PRAYER CHANGES THINGS?????

Let us pray like never before, and we will see Jesus glorified and His Kingdom extended amen.
